01 [ACTION]

[There is a giant, living boulder...thing on campus. It's snake-like in appearance and is just kind of milling about, sticking its giant rock nose into bushes, peering into second-story windows, leaving the campus lawn all torn up in its wake. Hey man, you can't be a massive stone-serpent and not leave a some kind of trail. It's around various places all day, and very clearly seems to be giving the place a once-over.

One might easily ignore the young man that accompanies this gargantuan creature (or is it the other way around?) if not for the fact that he is wearing an obnoxious shade of bright orange. Still, it might take you a few moments to notice him, given the sheer size of his rock-like companion. He carries a backpack, and a map which he refers to every so often.

What is most interesting about this duo, perhaps, is the fact that they seem to be actively conversing, albeit in different languages. Occasionally this mysterious arrival hitches a ride on his stony friend along their self-guided tour. It's obvious that they're evaluating the school with a sort of non-verbal running commentary, perhaps looking for a familiar face or two.

[Char is normally very much in favour of senseless destruction. But not when it is his naptime. He's off cutting class (AS USUAL) and doing a little basking near the fountain, his tail dangling off the not-full-of-water edge.

And then along comes an Onix that quite nearly just mows over the whole fountain. WTF, dude. Char lifts his head and lets out an extremely rude snarl. We're talking "Pokespeak for a staggeringly obscene remark about Onix's entire egg group" rude.]

[Onix is certainly not going to take that laying down. No sooner do the terrible horrible insults leave Char's snout than the rock type whips around and lets out a menacing roar.

Which of course sends its trainer running to the area. He was checking out a really interesting bush or something.]

[Well, Char's not getting back to sleep after that. He stands up on the fountain edge, totally ready to bust out the ineffectual Flamethrowers, when lo and behold, yon trainer guy doth emerge.

Oh. He knows that guy. Pewter City gym leader. Brock Something-Or-Other. On behalf of Charmanders everywhere, Char then proceeds to punch Brock in the kidneys.

So this is his Onix, huh...? Great. With a scowl still etched on his face, Char immediately begins to bitch about what a shitty half-assed gym leader the dude had to be for letting his Pokemon's clumsy ass bust everything up and if that stupid thing had sent the fountain erupting all over him there would have been hell to pay and furthermore, what was he even doing here anyway? Had Green started some kind of trend or had everyone in Kanto's league dropped out of school in their freshman year?

So in other words, Char's looking pissy and saying his name over and over. Behold, Brock: your welcome wagon.]

[Oh. It's a Charmeleon. An AWFULLY RUDE Charmeleon. Onix is looking clearly distressed at this insult of honor, and he's growling and grumbling insults right back at the fire-type. Mostly about how he eats Char's evolutionary line for breakfast. Brock has placed himself between the two Pokemon, trying his best to get his Pokemon to calm down, because Onix is WELL BEHAVED, gosh darn it. Charmeleon can bitch at them until the sun goes down but at least Brock can try to set an example.

He looks over his shoulder at Char apologetically, obviously not understanding the exchange, at least not in its entirety.]

[YEAH WELL-- oh. He's apologizing. Huh.

This is not how exchanges between Char and gym leaders who aren't Green usually go. He typically gets an "ugh oh great it's Green's Charmeleon what an unbearable jerk". Mostly because he is an unbearable jerk.

So while he's not going to apologize to Onix at all ever kthx, he will get down off the fountain and march up to Brock. He isn't hurling punches, but he's still gonna be surly because dammit, he's Char.]

[And now he's cocking his head, folding his arms, and tapping one foot impatiently. Brock wtf do you even want are you here for the ladies? Because you can keep the ladies Erika and Misty are both lamers.]

[Despite the fact that Onix is still growling about his trainer trying to be diplomatic with this little punk, Brock seems relatively unphased. Pokemon will be Pokemon.

It's a little odd that a Charmeleon would just kinda be chilling around, but hey, this school is supposed to be a little odd, isn't it?]

I uh. I'm Brock. Is your trainer a student here?

...If you have a trainer, I mean.

[What. BROCK. WHAT. He knows who you are. I know it's hard to tell one angry red lizard from a billion other angry red lizards but this one is like seven inches shorter than most.

[Oh God OW. ABORT. ABORT. Onix starts to growl and Brock puts a hand on him, trying to stave off more violence as he recovers from the punch.]
