Max had heard about the effects of these things. He'd seen the video of Mac on the journal network, but he had been out, visiting Sasha, and so had sort of missed out on the initial burst of action.

He hadn't seen any of the chicks yet. But, there, off in the distance, he could see... was that Brock standing with Tentacle Guy with Raiden? Max went up to them to see what was going on with this chicken-menace.

And as he walked up he realized that (1) Brock was very still, (2) Brock was very grey, and (3) Tentacle Guy was, too.

"Raiden, what's..." and then Max managed to put two and two together. "BROCK! TENTACLE GUY! NO!"

Mac could totally hear Max's cry of anguish over the phone.

[Mac was still on the phone. He heard that, yessir.]

...Raiden? Was that Max?

He's been stoned! By these little things! [He points so helpfully to the trouser chick, sporting a beautiful head of grass-hair. It hisses.]

Yeah, Mac, it's Max. Can you get Ness over here? We're on the main quad.

Oh my god it was one of the terrible things that did this to Brock.

Max saw it and he had only one reaction. He swung his arm back and gave it a righteous punch -- along with an accompanying righteous cry -- with his mighty fist.

There was a sickening sound as Max's fist crunched the little bird into a terrible paste of feathers, blood and evil.

This sound was quickly followed by a second sound. There was a crack. And something ~~small~~ moderately sized fell out of Brock's boxers.

Max looked down to see what it was.

"Oh shit fuck," he said. Max, you've been spending too much time around Vinnie.

If Brock had been capable of movement or thought, he most certainly would have collapsed on the ground, bleeding and screaming and crying.

You know, like a man.

It was a sound that echoed across the ages, for every intact male within a 50 mile radius cringed for reasons unknown to them, but for the two men present here and now...

"Max... you..."

Raiden slowly looked from Brock's rock to Max, and then there was the sound of another object falling to the ground, this one approximating two spherical (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-X35pPg7taw#t=05m28s) objects.

"...you turned him into a girl."

"Fuck," said Max, grabbing Raiden's shoulders. Vinnie would have been proud. "Raiden, oh my God, Raiden you have to help me fix this, holy fucking hell."

"I... I don't know! I don't know what we could do!" Raiden started blathering, as such a thing was easy to do when you had someone as huge as Max grabbing your shoulders in a panic. "Maybe we could put it back on and Ness can fix it or something, I don't know!"
